Kelly Clarkson was an American singer/songwriter that became the sweetheart of America after she was crowned American Idol in the first series. The win not only catapulted her into the limelight however, it also secured her a multi-album record deal in partnership with RCA Records 19 Recordings and S Records. In the years since, she's released numerous studio albums. Three albums have topped the US Billboard 200 charts while other albums were just an inch way away. She has been one of American Idol's most successful performers. As she achieved success she explored a variety of genres and themes, frequently singing with her partner in line with her personal feelings. The uniqueness of her voice and singing abilities earned her critical praise and a number of important prizes. In particular, she has received the Grammy Award a record three times. In addition, she has appeared on film and television. She also wrote the kids' storybook River Rose and the Magical Lullaby as well as been associated with a number of charities.
